Olympic Question

WHY is it, even though the Olympics are NOT televised live, that we are FORCED to sit through every other event of the day just to see the ONE event we WANT to see?

I don't enjoy watching small microbursts of my favorite sports mixed between other sports that, admittedly, aren't interesting to me.

I'm sure a part of it is to ensure the most money in television advertising. Or perhaps the thought is that we'll watch the lesser-viewed games. But really, it just makes me miss parts of the event I WANT to see and it irritates me that I'm wasting 3-4 hours of my time to watch 1 hour of gymnastics or swimming. You'd think they'd split it out, show each event in it's entirety, and sell the advertising for that event that is most relevant to the viewers that typically watch that event.

Yes, I know, I'm dreaming. But I'm sure it's more difficult to edit it all together than to edit it by sport?

So I'm going to have to be a couch potato so I can watch the events I like.

Good for the snack industry, bad for the overweight Americans. :)
