TAX TIME!

For most, tax season is stressful. With only one income and 4 children, tax season is fun for us. Even though we our filing is 4 exemptions, we still end up "on top" after our tax credits.

Every year we have to decide what to do with the money. First and foremost, we pay off debt. This year is looking really good for paying off debt! The car was officially paid off last October so we are free of car payments.

We really need to work on NOT accumulating credit card debt over the year. That has been our biggest downfall over the years. After tax time, we end up dead even again, but how nice would it feel to not HAVE to pay off that debt AGAIN next year? What would it be like to go into 2009 with every penny of our Tax Refund available for investment, savings and a nice vacation.

That is our goal for this year. With our refund, we're going to pay off debt and stay out of debt so that next year, we can take a nice vacation (or buy a new car?).
